Pool heating

Cold-climate inverter pool heat pumps for extended-season operation.

Pool heating demand depends mainly on surface area, wind, air temperature, water temperature and operating hours. AQ-Mare Inverno -35 is designed for pool heating and cooling at low outdoor temperatures.

Key information

  • Pool series: AQ-Mare Inverno -35
  • Published range: 3 to 35 kW models at pool conditions
  • Heat exchanger: Titanium pool-water circuit

Calculate heat loss, not volume alone

Evaporation from the pool surface is often the dominant loss. A cover, wind protection and usage schedule can change the required duty substantially.

  • Open surface and target water temperature
  • Local wind and humidity
  • Cover use during closed hours

Check the winter duty point

Output quoted in warm air does not describe shoulder-season or sub-zero operation. Compare capacity and COP at the expected outdoor temperature and allow for defrost.

  • Low-ambient capacity
  • Available recovery time
  • Pool-side flow and pressure drop

Sizing inputs

InputImpact
Pool surface areaDrives much of the evaporation loss.
Air temperature and windIncrease or reduce surface heat loss.
Pool coverCan reduce the maintenance load substantially when used consistently.
Operating hoursSet the output needed for maintenance and recovery.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Sizing from water volume alone.
  • Using output declared only at warm-air conditions.
  • Ignoring the cover, wind and recovery period.

Frequently asked questions

Does a pool cover reduce required output?

Yes. Reducing evaporation and night losses can lower the maintenance load significantly.

Can the unit cool the pool?

AQ-Mare Inverno models support heating and cooling; confirm the operating range of the selected model.
